SPB News | Holy Week 2026
Walking the Way of the Cross to the Joy of the Resurrection
This Holy Week, we are glad to be joining with churches across our local community to pray, worship, reflect, and celebrate together. Across the week we will move from prayer for our neighbourhood, to seeing how the Old Testament helps us understand the cross, to standing at Calvary on Good Friday, and then to the joy of Easter Sunday. It is a shared witness to the hope of Jesus Christ in North Belfast.
Beginning with Prayer for Our Community
We begin Holy Week not indoors, but out on the streets, walking together and praying for the people, places, and communities around us. It is fitting that the week starts this way. Before we come to the cross and the empty tomb again, we begin by lifting our neighbourhood before the Lord and asking for his peace, healing, renewal, and gospel hope to be known in this part of the city.

Moving Through the Story of Holy Week Together
As the week continues, each gathering helps us to dwell more deeply in the story of redemption. On Wednesday we look back into the Old Testament to understand the cross more fully. On Friday we gather under the shadow of Calvary. Then on Sunday we gather morning and evening to celebrate the risen Christ. Each service has its own emphasis, but together they help us walk through the great saving events at the heart of the gospel.
Wednesday | 19:45
Evening Worship
Location: Crosscollyer EPC
Theme: The Cross in the Old Testament
This evening helps us prepare for Good Friday by tracing how the Old Testament points forward to the saving work of Christ. Through promise, sacrifice, covenant, and prophecy, we begin to see why the cross stands at the very centre of God’s redeeming plan.
Friday | 19:00
Good Friday Service
Location: Seaview Presbyterian Church
Theme: Behold the Lamb of God
On Good Friday we gather to remember the death of Jesus Christ for the sins of the world. This service will be shaped by Scripture, prayer, stillness, and reflection as we consider the wonder and cost of the cross.
Sunday Morning | 10:30am
Easter Morning Celebration
Location: St Paul’s & St Barnabas
Family Worship with Holy Communion
On Easter morning we gather as the church family to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ with worship, Scripture, prayer, and Holy Communion. This will be a joyful all-age service as we proclaim together that Christ is risen indeed.
Sunday Evening | 19:00
Easter Sunday Celebration
Location: St Paul’s & St Barnabas
Theme: Christ is Risen - hope, joy, and new life
We end the week with a shared Easter celebration, rejoicing in the risen Christ. This service will include worship, Scripture, a message of resurrection hope, and three testimonies speaking of the grace and power of God at work in people’s lives.
Join Us This Holy Week
Holy Week leads us from sorrow to joy, from the cross to the empty tomb, from prayerful dependence to resurrection hope. We are thankful to share this journey with fellow believers from across our community, and we would love you to join us as together we remember, proclaim, and celebrate the good news of Jesus Christ.
