Life’s journey is filled with seasons, each bringing unique challenges and pressures. As we navigate the demands of family, work, education, and the many transitions of life, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or uncertain. Whether it’s the weight of expectations, the strain of changing seasons, or simply the need for a safe space to process, taking the step to seek support can make all the difference. At Hope Counselling Support, you’ll find a compassionate environment where, regardless of your background or beliefs, you are invited to share your story, find comfort, and begin a path toward healing. Today might be the day to reach out—together, let’s take that step.

Expanding Our Reach

Hope Counselling Support is dedicated to extending its services to those in need through a growing network of partnerships with statutory and voluntary agencies. Thanks to these ongoing networking efforts, we have seen a steady increase in referrals from trusted organizations like Aware NI, the Engage Project (via Start360), GP surgeries, Addiction NI, the Association of Christian Counselling, church groups, and direct self-referrals.

Our aim is to build on this momentum, reaching more individuals who could benefit from a compassionate, professional counselling service.

About Our Service

At Hope Counselling, we offer free, confidential weekly sessions lasting 50 minutes each. Our support starts with an initial series of six sessions, with the option to extend if needed. We provide a safe space where individuals can freely explore their thoughts, feelings, and challenges, finding clarity and self-understanding along the way. As one client observed, "I learn more about myself as I hear myself speak."

Our service is not exclusively faith-based; instead, we tailor each session to the client's unique needs. For those who prefer, we offer faith-based guidance, while others may choose a more general approach, allowing flexibility that suits each person’s journey.

Supporting Diverse Needs

Hope Counselling Support welcomes individuals from all walks of life, regardless of age, background, or gender. We are here to help those dealing with a wide range of issues, including low moods, depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, anger, family conflicts, grief, trauma effects, and addiction recovery. Each session is an opportunity to move forward with compassionate, professional guidance.

Client Testimonies

We are grateful to share some encouraging words from clients who have experienced growth through Hope Counselling:

“It’s been a very useful experience. I have become more positive in how I see my situation and less depressed generally.”
“Counselling has helped my addiction and saved my marriage.”
“A helpful experience. I am able to talk my feelings through in confidence.”
“Because of Hope Counselling I feel I can discuss issues more easily and freely.”

How You Can Help

Although Hope Counselling Support is free, we welcome small donations to help cover essentials like heating and electricity, ensuring we can continue to provide a warm and comfortable environment for everyone who walks through our doors.

Every contribution directly supports our goal of offering a safe space for healing and growth. Your generosity makes a real difference in helping us extend our reach and provide this valuable service to even more people.

Preaching Ministry || John 10:1-21 || The Goodness of the Shepherd || Rev Andrew Irwin

Reflecting on the Good Shepherd - A Sermon by Andrew Irwin Reflecting on the Good Shepherd This week at St. Paul's & St. Barnabas, Andrew Irwin shared a compelling sermon titled "The Goodness of the Shepherd," which we are excited to bring to our wider church community through our podcast. In his message, Andrew draws from the well-known biblical metaphor of the Good Shepherd to offer insights into how this image can influence and guide our daily lives as followers of Christ. The sermon delves into the characteristics of sheep, known for their need for constant care and guidance, and parallels this to our own spiritual journey. Andrew uses simple yet vivid language to describe the protective and guiding nature of Jesus, our Shepherd, emphasizing the personal and communal implications of accepting His leadership in our lives. By discussing real-life observations and biblical texts, the sermon invites us to reflect on our own responsiveness to J
