Christmas 2025 at SPB

Christmas at St Paul’s & St Barnabas

Advent teaches us to wait with hope. Not because the world becomes tidy, but because God keeps his promises. And at Christmas we celebrate the heart of that hope: Jesus Christ has come — God with us — to bring light into the darkness and rescue for sinners.

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.”

Isaiah 9:2

These gatherings are for our church family, and they are for our wider community too. We would love to welcome neighbours, friends, and families. We want our neighbourhood to encounter the light of the gospel this Christmas. All welcome.

Community Carols | Nine Lessons & Carols

Join us for Nine Lessons & Carols, telling the story of salvation through Scripture and song. We’ll hear the great promises of God, and we’ll sing together as we celebrate the good news of Christmas: that God has kept his word, and that Christ has come for us. This is a service for the whole community — bring a friend, bring a neighbour, and come ready to listen and sing.

When: Sunday 21 December, 7:00pm
Where: St Paul’s & St Barnabas, 208 York Street, Belfast

Caroling in the Community

There’s something simple and good about singing carols together. We’ll meet at church and head out locally to sing in our community. It’s a small way of saying: Christmas joy is not just for private homes and private lives. The message of Christmas is public news — Jesus is the light of the world — and we want to share that light on the streets around us.

When: Tuesday 16 December, meet at 6:45pm
Where: Meet at St Paul’s & St Barnabas, 208 York Street, Belfast

Christmas Day | Family Celebration

On Christmas morning we gather as a church family to celebrate the birth of Christ. This will be a warm, all-age service with carols, prayer, and God’s word. Whether you come every week or you’ve never been before, you are very welcome. Christmas is not just a tradition or a feeling — it’s the announcement that God has come near, and that in Jesus there is hope for the weary, forgiveness for sinners, and peace with God.

When: Thursday 25 December, 10:30am
Where: St Paul’s & St Barnabas, 208 York Street, Belfast
