Continue. Preach. Endure. — 2 Timothy 3:14–4:5
“All Scripture is God-breathed … so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
This week at SPB we stepped into Paul’s final charge to Timothy and heard a timely word for Belfast today: continue in the Scriptures you’ve received, preach the Word in season and out of season, and endure with patience and hope. Scripture is not merely inspirational; it is God-breathed— authoritative, trustworthy, and sufficient—shaping what we believe and how we live. When culture drifts or prefers myths over truth, the church is called not to chase trends but to stay rooted in Christ, confident that His Word still saves, equips, and sends us into our city as a people of light.
Key takeaways
- Continue in the Word: Hold fast to Scripture as the source of wisdom and life; the gospel we’ve received is enough.
- Preach and embody the gospel: Readiness “in season and out” looks like clear teaching, gentle correction, and everyday obedience.
- Endure with patience: When ears itch for easier messages, keep your head, keep going, and keep pointing to Jesus.
